I have been hitting the weights pretty hard this week, and tonight it's time to work in some cardio in the form of the rope. I love to rope, and as soon as i can I am going to buy a 4' x 4' sheet of 3/4" plywood to put down over the carpet in the Rec room so I can rope in there anytime I want. It would be perfect because it has a 9 foot ceiling and plenty of room. Also, putting the plywood down over the carpet will be better than jumping on the concrete of my neighbors garage, and the carpet will provide cushion to the jumps instead of the friction it now provides to the rope. Essentially, jumping on the carpet slows the rope down so much it keeps me from getting really into it. When the rope is able to fly without friction you can really crank up the rpm's and zip.
I have a place lined up to go get a bunch of wood this weekend. The guy says that he has locust already down that just need to be cut into logs and hauled off. I needed some more as this has been a fairly cold winter in Tennessee. I hope to get enough to get me through some (or all) of next year also. The wood really does burn better when it has been seasoned for at least 6-8 months. Anyway, I hope to talk him out of some of his Oak and Hickory too. Wish me luck...
