The Tempo LIVES!!!

So yesterday I went to the neighbors house where my car has been parked for 2 months. As everyone knows I was pretty sure that she was done this time. We got to messing around with it and narrowed it down to an ignition issue. At first we thought that the key lock cylinder had gone bad so we took off the covers and panels surrounding the steering column to access it. When we did that I noticed that several pieces of copper and plastic fell out. Obviously that's not a good thing. Turns out that the ignition switch had basically broken into pieces. I don't know if it was just age or what, but I bought a new one for $15 and now the Tempo is back to running like a champ.

That car just never ceases to amaze me. I really thought she was a goner this time. What a relief that we still have 2 vehicles in good working order. I know some day I'll have to say goodbye to her, but she wasn't ready just yet.

So anyway, I drove her home and the first thing I did was enlist Miri to help me clean her up. We cleaned her inside and out and then I went and picked up a friend and we just went riding for a while. It's so good to have her back. I missed driving her...

The Down Lizzle on the new Jizzle

So I know everyone wants to know how the new job is going. So here goes. It's good so far. They brought me in specifically to train to be a store manager. Electronic Express is family owned, and there are only 15 stores right now. The plan for me is to get me up to speed on their procedures and ready to take second command in the newest store which will open in a month or two. Interestingly, that store is going to be located in the same building where the CompUSA was that I worked at.

So far I'm getting plenty of hours, but the pay is not good ($7.25/hr + commission). I am being paid as a floor salesman, but since they are training me for management I'm not afforded much time to sell. It's kind of a catch 22. I seriously haven't made this little since I worked at Hardees in High School. It definitely does not pay the bills. Once I get the Manager status then we'll be talking more like $45,000/yr base. That's a lot more comfortable. Hopefully everything moves quickly and we can get back to having some semblance of security around here.

Anyway, that's the gist of it. We'll be OK, just like we always are. But, if you really feel inclined, we do take cash donations. Or you could request one of our self addressed prepaid envelopes to put all of your unwanted gold and jewelry into and mail it to:

New job starts today

I got a job at Electronic Express. It starts today. Doesn't pay much, but they say they are putting me on the fast track to management. Wish me luck.
