Well, we had a very nice, relaxing, drama free Christmas this year. This was going to be the first time in my life that I would celebrate a Christmas without seeing Dad. He said that he was not going to be able to get off of work in time to come to Illinois and see everyone. So we were all blown away when he showed up at the
Zurliene Christmas in
Albers dressed as Santa. Apparently, the care package that we put together and the letter that I wrote him had quite an impact on him. He told his boss that he had to get home somehow, and his boss let him. I think we were all really glad that he was able to make it, and that it didn't create too much drama.
The girls had a really good time with the family, and as of this morning at 7am when I left the house, everyone (including the wife) was still out like a light. Travelling is always so exhausting, but it is almost always worth it. Anyway, everything will be back to normal in a couple of days, we just need to rest and recover.
I still have no idea how I seem to be able to fit everything into the car from year to year. It's almost like that magic carpet bag that Mary Poppins has.
